Bacon & McElhone

Co-Authors of I Must Be Dreaming

In his senior year as a music major at Harvard, Varick Bacon wrote the score for the Hasty Pudding Show. More recently, he has written songs with a number of collaborators including John Wallowitch, Carleton Carpenter, Wilma Classon, Powers McElhone, Richard Leach, Jill Marshall-Work, Thayer Birch, David Jenness and Michael Barry Greer. He recently finished composing the score for a two-act, original book musical comedy called Co-Operation.

Powers McElhone's life-long study of voice, piano and music theory included several years of professional music workshops in Manhattan before she deserted the arts for a corporate career. Recently she returned to music, working again with her early partners: lyricist Janet Cohen, composers Steve Lewis and Robert W. Miles, and with new collaborators, Varick Bacon and John Wallowitch. Several of her songs have been performed in cabaret and elsewhere.
