1987: Benchmark Publications Inc was established on a Virtual Office model as a service business: a professional business communications company providng technical, marketing and educational project management and content development for Fortune 500 Corporations and leading software publishers.

1996:BPI launched its first product-oriented business, a Small Press imprint, as a complementary product line. Our products are available on line at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, Captain Benchmark's Bookstore and the Bookstore Annex at eBay, and select retail and college bookstores and libraries internationally.

1999: BPI announced Benchmark Publications Interactive (BPI2), hoisting our company flag in cyberspace as designers-developers of intranet/internet solutions, underscoring our early adoption of new technologies, delivering information on CD, intranet and interactive learning systems.
2006: As the Captain has been heard to say, “If we could put all this to music, life would be good.” And so Benchmark Standards, an ASCAP music publishing company, made its on-line debut. Established initially to safeguard the copyrights of its founder, Standards is developing into a songwriters'/performers' advocacy and music news resource. Still in its infancy, you can preview the kernel of the idea now in the Benchmark Standards space..

2007: In our 20th year in business, Benchmark began a transition toward an emphasis on the publishing side of the business. We have not deserted our corporate roots; we're simply adjusting the focus to book design and publishing, technical, marketing and educational editorial support, and production management.

2008: Today's announcement of the publication of the latest Perceptual Control Theory (PCT) work by William T. Powers, Living Control Systems III: The Fact of Control, marks an important milestone in the evolution of Powers' revolutionary theory about the behavior of all living things. Herein lies the proof.
